PRINCIPAL - KATY CARROLL - DANCE TEACHER (BALLET, MODERN & TAP)
Katy trained in ballet and contemporary at the West Street School, Covent Garden. She studied RAD (Royal Academy of Dancing) and ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) Cecchetti Ballet, Modern and Tap. Katy obtained her advanced level exams in all of them.
She is currently working towards taking her Licentiate exams in Tap and Modern theatre dance.
Her career began working on various cruise lines before touring the U.S.A. and Australia with “Spirit of the Dance”. Her first musical appearance began with the first national tour of “Saturday Night Fever” choreographed by Arlene Phillips. She then went on to work with Craig Revel Horward in “Copacabana”.
Her “West End” debut began with “Chicago” at the Adelphi theatre where she played the role of “Arsenic Annie”. She performed alongside names such as David Hasslehof, Jill Halfpenny, Brooke Shields, Linda Carter, Darius, Michael French, Jennifer Ellison – to name just a few!
She made TV appearances with “Musicality” and the newsreaders for “Children In Need”. She then went on to perform in “Me & My Girl” understudying the role of Lady Jacqueline.
Katy also has many commercial and TV credits including Sky Sports with Jason Gardiner, Mark Owen in concert at the Shepherds Bush Empire, dancing with Louise on ITV’s “Magic of the Movies”, dancing with Chakka Khan & Jamelia on ITV’s “Saturday Night Divas”, hair & fashion shows for Wella, Marks & Spencer, Nike & Baileys and she has even presented her own fitness DVD!
Katy is a fully qualified teacher and has a teaching diploma in ISTD Cecchetti Ballet, Tap and Modern and also RAD. She has taught many children from 3 years of age to full time students on professional dance and acting courses in central London.
